Governing Board Meeting Summary - 26th October 2026

Director of Special Education, Michael Corritone, along with Program Specialists, Jessica Garcia & Renee Nickerson, provided an overview of the District's Special Education programming, services, and student population for 2026-2027. Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services, jan Rogenski, presented an informational report on WCSD's 2026 California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) results. Click HERE to view the presentation.

School site principals and their PTA/PTO/PERC representatives highlighted activities & events a t their sites and presented their 2026-2027 budgets. WCEF shared their 2026-27 at-a-glance, what they fund in our district, a fundraising update (they're at 57% of their goal as of 10/21!), and upcoming fundraising events. They then presented the district with a donation of $820,000. This is an annual requirement that the Board consider acceptance of donations per BP 3290 - Gifts, Grants, and Bequests. Board approved, 5-0.

Director of Construction/Maintenance, Steve Miller, requested approval of Change Order #1 in the amount of $204,896 for the Buena Vista Elementary School Modernization Project Phase 2. Board approved, 5-0.

Director of Construction/Maintenance, Steve Miller, requested approval of Resolution 26-27-14 Notice of Completion for the Buena Vista Elementary School Modernization Project Phase 2. Board approved, 5-0.

The Governing Board reviewed updates to the WCSD Governance Team Handbook as discussed at a Governance Workshop held on 7th August 2026. Board approved, 5-0.
