Governing Board Meeting Summary - 8th June 2026

The Governing Board unanimously approved the appointment of Jon Campopiano as Superintendent of Walnut Creek School District, effective 1st July 2026. With nearly 30 years of public education experience, Mr. Campopiano has served as both a middle school principal and a classroom teacher. Mr. Campopiano comes to us from San Ramon Valley School District where he currently serves as Executive Director of Secondary Education.

The Governing Board unanimously approved the appointment of Pam Davis as Principal of Tice Creek School. Ms. Davis has over 20 years of experience in education and was one of the founding teachers of Tice Creek when it opened 11 years ago. Ms. Davis transitioned to the WCSD District Office where she served as Assistant Director of Educational Services and currently serves as Director of Innovation & Technology.

The Parcel Tax campaign committee, parent groups, and volunteers were recognised for their support with Measure L. Special thanks went out to Jeff Pickett, Becca Rogers, Ruben Fernandez, and Susan Hildreth, as well as Charles Heath and Marisa Garcia from Team CivX, for spearheading the campaign.

Jan Rogenski, Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services, requested approval of the WCSD 2026-2027 proposed LCAP and Local Indicator Results. Board approved, 5-0.

Vince Morales, Chief Business Official, requested approval of the proposed 2026-2027 Walnut Creek School District Budget. Board approved, 5-0.

Nik Wai-Poi, CBOC member, presented the annual report of the Measure D/Measure J Citizen's Bond Oversight Committee for the fiscal year 2024-2025. Board approved, 5-0.

Kelly Eagan, Director of Human Resources, presented the negotiated 2026-2027 Benefits MOU for CSEA Chapter 202. Board approved, 5-0.

Vince Morales, Chief Business Official, requested approval of the District's online submission for federal categorical programs to the California Department of Education. Board approved, 5-0.

Vince Morales, Chief Business Official, requested approval of Resolution 25-26-24 Education Protection Account. Board approved, 5-0.

Jan Rogenski, Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services, requested approval of the annual Proposition 28 Arts & Music in Schools Report for 2025-2026. Board approved, 5-0.

Superintendent Morgan presented Resolution 25-26-23 Specifications of the Election Order. This is a county requirement to indicate how many Governing Board seats will be on the November 3, 2026 regular election ballot. Board approved, 5-0.

Superintendent Morgan presented the Governing Board with the proposed 2026-2027 Governing Board meeting schedule. Board approved, 5-0.

Superintendent Morgan presented Resolution 25-26-22 In Support of June as LGBTQ+ Pride Month. Board approved, 5-0.

Superintendent Morgan presented recent updates to Governing Board policy and administrative regulations as recommended by the California School Boards Association. Board approved, 5-0.

Kelly Eagan, Director of Human Resources, presented Resolution 25-26-25 memorializing Superintendent Morgan's contract upon her retirement. Board approved, 5-0.
