The Walnut Creek School District Governing Board continues to make strong progress in its search for the District's next Superintendent.

On May 6, 2026, the Governing Board met in Closed Session with consultants from Leadership Associates to review a highly qualified and robust pool of applicants for the Superintendent position. Following a thorough review process, the Board identified candidates whose experience, leadership qualities, and professional background most closely align with the priorities and criteria outlined in the District's Superintendent Position Profile.

Selected candidates will participate in first-round, in-person interviews with the Governing Board and Leadership Associates on May 15, 2026. Following those interviews, finalists will be invited to participate in second-round interviews scheduled for May 19, 2026.

The Governing Board remains committed to conducting a thoughtful, transparent, and comprehensive search process and looks forward to appointing the District's next Superintendent at the June 8, 2026 Board meeting, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2026.
