The Governing Board held a Public Hearing to provide members of the public with the opportunity to express their views on the holding of a Parcel Tax election for the purpose of levying a new parcel tax for nine years, which provides a local source of revenues for educational purposes.

Resolution 25-26-16 Parcel Tax Election

Vince Morales, Chief Business Official, recommended approval of Resolution 25-26-16 to place a parcel tax measure on the June 2, 2026 ballot which would levy a special tax of $98 per parcel to support academic and arts programs, maintain manageable class sizes, address facilities issues, and provide staff funding. Board approved, 5-0.

Testing Engineers, Inc. Special Inspections & Testing Services - Murwood Elementary

Steve Miller, Director of Construction/Maintenance, requested approval of a contract with Testing Engineers, Inc. for special inspection and testing services for Measure J modernization projects at Murwood Elementary. Board approved, 5-0.

Cornerstone Earth Group Geotechnical Engineering Services - Murwood Elementary

Steve Miller, Director of Construction/Maintenance, requested approval of a contract with Cornerstone Earth Group for geotechnical engineering services for Measure J modernization projects at Murwood Elementary. Board approved, 5-0.

American Modular Systems Change Order #1 - Walnut Heights Elementary

Steve Miller, Director of Construction/Maintenance, requested approval of American Modular Systems Change Order #1, which decreases the original contract by $10,802.30. Board approved, 5-0.

Comprehensive School Safety Plans 2025-2026

Steve Miller, Director of Construction/Maintenance, provided highlights representative of the safety plans for all seven schools. This is an annual process and requirement. Board approved, 5-0.

Declaration of Need for Fully Qualified Educators

Kelly Eagan, Director of Human Resources, requested approval of the Declaration of Need for Fully Qualified Educators for the 2026-2027 school year. This is an annual requirement. Board approved, 5-0.

Amended Board of Education Meeting Dates for 2025-2026

The Governing Board discussed moving their April 20th meeting to April 13th. Board approved, 5-0.

CSBA Delegate Assembly Endorsements

With a vote of 5-0, the Governing Board agreed to endorse all three incumbent candidates for CSBA Delegate Assembly, sub-region 7A.

Recommended Updates and Additions to Board Policy

Superintendent Morgan requested approval of recent recommended policy updates from the California School Boards Association that address recent legislation requirements regarding response to immigration enforcement. Board approved, 5-0.
