As we celebrate Staff Appreciation Week from May 5th – 9th, I want to take a moment to recognize the 

incredible individuals who make up the Walnut Creek School District team.

While this week is nationally recognized as Teacher Appreciation Week, we intentionally take this time to honor all staff — teachers, specialists, support staff, custodial teams, office personnel, and everyone who contributes to the daily success of our students and schools.

Each of these individuals plays a vital role in creating warm, welcoming, and inclusive environments where students feel supported, challenged, and equipped to thrive. Your work helps us live our mission every day — to engage, inspire, and empower every learner.

To our families, caregivers, and community members: we invite you to join us in showing gratitude this week.  Whether it’s a kind note, a small gesture, or simply saying thank you, your recognition means so much to those who give so much.
