Believe it or not, we had one outdoor recess today! Our Cougars have been amazing and positive and creative as they wait for drier weather. However, our hope is always to be outside and we do go out in misty/light rain. Please be sure your child has appropriate (labelled!) gear to be outside.
Thank you to all the families and students who are making a renewed effort to be on time and at school every day when they are healthy! If you’re having trouble getting to school, we want to help! Please call the school office. This is the time of year when winter weather and children’s illnesses can take a toll on school attendance. It’s still important to get your children to school every day possible.
Spotted in Classrooms:
4th grade readers are in book clubs; they enjoy meeting with their partners and discussing their books!
3rd grader writers in Mrs. Wolfe's class wrote for a very specific purpose: to persuade the principal to let them have open seating in the cafeteria! Were they successful? Stay tuned!
1st grade science writers are learning all about penguins - always a big hit!
Parking Lot Reminders
Pedestrians should use the crosswalk. Only. (I may be dating myself, but I have flashbacks of the video game Frogger when I see adults with children crossing 3 lanes of moving traffic, or adults leaving school, scooting back to their vehicles.)
Do not make U-turns on Walnut Boulevard. At any time of day. It is not safe, and we have had a number of lucky, near-misses in the past week.
Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership!
