Parkmead houses a community-based school for students within the Parkmead attendance area, as well as Parkmead Active Learning School (PALS) which serves students from throughout the Walnut Creek School District.

Parent leadership is provided by active PTA and PALS boards, as well as Parkmead Education Resources Council, which raises funds for whole-school projects. Student leadership is seen through an active Student Council. All of these various groups work together to provide a high quality instructional program and an excellent school climate for all students.
